A former carer who stole £2,900 from an elderly paraplegic woman and fabricated having cancer to cover her tracks has been sentenced to 10 months in prison.

A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child in 2011, after the victim came forward following a police social media post about a similar case.
