A Wrexham man has been jailed for 28 weeks after targeting two shops in the city centre whilst serving a suspended sentence for previous shoplifting offences.

Robert Bailey, 34, of no fixed abode, struck twice within a fortnight – first at M&S in Plas Coch on Friday, 19 September, where he took several meat joints worth over £160 from a fridge and walked out without paying.

Just two weeks later on 5 October, Bailey targeted B&M on the Border Retail Park, placing a number of headphones worth over £150 inside his jacket before leaving the shop without making any attempt to pay.

Bailey appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Friday, 10 October, where he admitted two counts of theft. His suspended sentence from several previous shoplifting offences was activated, and he was jailed for a total of 28 weeks.
