A 35-year-old woman from Wrexham has been sentenced to 34 weeks in prison after going on a two-month shoplifting spree across various food stores 🛒⚖️
Nicola Groom, of Cheshire View, appeared before Wrexham Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 28 May, where she admitted to 13 shoplifting offences. The court heard how Groom targeted multiple retailers between March and April, stealing confectionery, meat, laundry and household goods, with one additional offence committed in December last year.
Sergeant Thomas Dewberry said: “Tackling retail crime remains a priority in the city and we will continue to work hard to bring offenders to justice to protect those working in the retail sector. Retail theft is not a ‘victimless crime’ and has a genuine impact on the businesses and staff affected by it.”
