A woman with 56 previous convictions has been jailed for two years after police discovered drugs and a weapon at her Swansea property.

Officers from South Wales Police executed a search warrant at Deborah Delaney’s home on Griffith John Street on March 20 this year. Inside they found ketamine, diazepam, crack cocaine, scales, and mobile phones.

An examination of the phones uncovered messages from others relating to drugs over the previous three months. A knuckle duster was also recovered from the property.

Delaney appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Monday, November 17, via video link from prison, where she is already serving a sentence for taking part in an assault on a man earlier this year when she was one of three people who behaved “like a pack of wild animals”.

She pleaded guilty to drug possession and possession of an offensive weapon.

Defence barrister Andrew Evans told the court her offending amounted to supplying drugs to a “small number of similar people”. He added that Delaney’s mother was currently unwell and that the defendant “feels extremely guilty that she is not with her at this time when she needs her most”.

Judge Paul Thomas KC told Delaney: “You have a very bad record and have been in and out of prison several times. At the end of the day only you can sort your life out. You have nobody but yourself to blame.”

Delaney was handed a two-year prison sentence, effective from November 17. She had previously been eligible for release in May 2026.
