A 53-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after exposing himself in a park near a school in Neath, marking his latest offence in a string of similar incidents.
Jonathan Patrick Keegan of Meadow Road, Melin, was observed performing an indecent act at approximately 3pm on October 3rd. The incident occurred in a park near a local school, though no children directly witnessed the act.
The defendant’s legal representative, David Singh, acknowledged his client’s extensive history, stating that to call it “unenviable” would be an “understatement”.
Judge Paul Thomas KC handed down a two-year and eight-month prison sentence, noting that “there appeared to be no sign that the behaviour Keegan had exhibited over the years was going to change”.
Keegan, who pleaded guilty to exposure and breaching a sexual offences prevention order (SOPO), has twelve previous similar offences on his record. He will serve up to half his sentence in custody before release on licence, and will remain on the sex offenders register for seven years. 👨⚖️
