A street dealer has been sentenced to prison after attempting to smuggle dangerous drugs into North Wales. Christopher Tarran, 35, from Llys Bryn Awel, Mold, was caught travelling between Ellesmere Port and North Wales last November.

Judge His Honour Niclas Parry described Tarran as “a chancer” and “a risktaker” during sentencing at Mold Crown Court. The judge stated: “Mr Tarran, you are a chancer, you are a risktaker and you knew, partly because you were on a suspended sentence, what the serious consequences might be.”

“But for the second time in a relatively short period you were playing your part in making very harmful drugs available in North Wales. You were involved in the supply of two different kinds of very harmful drugs.”

Defence lawyer Martyn Walsh told the court: “But I accept it was an operational role as he was selling drugs.”

With 41 previous convictions, Tarran received concurrent sentences of two years and four months for each drug supply charge, plus an additional 12 months from a suspended sentence, totalling three years and four months imprisonment. ⚖️
