A 26-year-old man who supplied crack cocaine in the Llanelli area has been sentenced to three years in prison after detectives uncovered thousands of pounds worth of drugs at a property in the town.

Sentencing

Jake Ware, of Pwll, Llanelli, appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Monday 27 April 2026, where he admitted three offences – possession with intent to supply class A drugs, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, and possessing criminal property. He was sentenced on Friday 1 May to three years’ imprisonment.

The raid

Dyfed-Powys Police executed a search warrant at an address in Llanelli on Wednesday 17 December 2025, acting on intelligence that Ware had been dealing class A and class B substances from the property. Inside, officers recovered approximately £4,000 worth of crack cocaine alongside more than £2,000 in cash. Weighing scales and digital devices – items commonly associated with drug supply – were also seized.

Suspicious activity and manhunt

Nobody was found at the property during the search, but officers noticed two vehicles passing the house on several occasions while the operation was under way. Attempts to track down the vehicles, assisted by the force’s Roads Policing Unit, were unsuccessful, and Ware was subsequently identified as a wanted suspect.

After pursuing multiple lines of enquiry, detectives launched a public appeal to find him on Thursday 26 March 2026. Information from members of the public led to his arrest later the same afternoon. He was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs before being charged and remanded into custody.

Social media evidence

Investigators also uncovered a Facebook account registered under the fake name “JJ Mac”, which was linked back to Ware. He had used the account to arrange drug deals, sending messages including: “I literally got half oz weighed here chuck me 25 tomorrow.” The phrase “half oz” refers to a quantity of a controlled substance – in this instance identified as cocaine.

Detective Sergeant Richard Saunders said: “Jake Ware thought he could get away with supplying harmful drugs in the Llanelli area, but now he is in jail.

“I want to thank the public who responded to our appeal to locate Ware. With your help, we were able to arrest Ware and take another drug dealer off our streets.

“If you ever suspect drug dealing might be taking place in your area, please report it. You can report your concerns anonymously through Crimestoppers or you can simply report directly to us at Dyfed-Powys Police.

“By working together, we can make Llanelli a safer place to live.”
