🚔 St Martin’s School in Caerphilly implemented a precautionary lockdown this morning, with Gwent Police responding to safety concerns on the premises.

Headteacher Lee Jarvis reassured parents this morning: “We are currently undertaking a lockdown assisted by the police. There is no risk to any staff or children. The school is secure and everyone is safe and this is an isolated incident involving two children that has been contained.”

Parents were advised not to travel to the school during the incident.

A Gwent Police spokesperson confirmed their attendance following a 10.30am call, stating: “The school was put into lockdown as a precaution. Officers attended. There are no safety concerns, and the lockdown has been lifted. Enquiries are ongoing to establish if this was a malicious report.”

🏫 All pupils and staff are safe, with normal school operations now resumed.
