A 52-year-old Swansea man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of raping two men in separate incidents between 2021 and 2024.
Clive Thomas Leonard, from Sketty Park, targeted intoxicated victims he encountered by chance. The first attack involved a teenage student in Swansea city centre in 2021, while the second occurred at a flat in 2024.
Judge Huw Rees stated during sentencing: “You encountered both men by chance and had taken advantage of the situation to satisfy your sexual lust.”
Leonard’s defence counsel, James Evans, noted the defendant had been leading a “boring, uneventful life” with full-time employment and stable accommodation prior to these offences.
Leonard will serve two-thirds of his sentence in custody before release on licence. He will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
